Corinthians will take on Guarani in the Campeonato Paulista today and then travel to Mexico next week to play Cruz Azul in the Copa Libertadores.

Tite had already left Adriano out his squad when the Campeonato Brasileiro champions took on Nacional in the Libertadores on Wednesday, because he wanted the 29-year-old to improve his fitness.

However, it seems the troubled forward did not fulfil the demands of his coach and will yet again watch his team-mates play without him.

“Adriano is out of the team," Tite said at a press conference. “He has not trained as well as we would of liked during the week, so that"s why he"s out.

“It was predetermined that he would not travel [to Mexico]. His work [in training] had no intensity, quality, dedication and application compared to the other players.

“His situation was to fulfil the work that we had planned for him during the week, but he hasn"t reached the technical and physical level that we would like."

Adriano"s contract with Corinthians expires in June.
