Roberto Firmino prefers to wait to see how he could fit into Real Madrid’s plans before making a decision on his possible transfer to Spain. The information comes from the Daily Mail newspaper.
The player, whose contract with Liverpool will soon end, is on Madrid’s shortlist for this summer as he ponders which team to join after leaving the Reds.

Firmino scored in his last game for Liverpool on Sunday, when the Reds had to settle for a thrilling 4-4 draw against relegated Southampton. In a difficult season for Jurgen Klopp’s side, Firmino has been one of their best performers, despite his playing time diminishing following the arrivals of Darwin Núñez and Cody Gakpo.
The 31-year-old has scored 11 goals in 25 Premier League appearances, despite only starting 13 times. Firmino has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid rivals Barcelona since he informed Liverpool of his intention to leave the club at the end of the season.
If Firmino joins the Santiago Bernabeu, it seems likely he would play a supporting role alongside Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema. Despite his contract also ending this summer, Benzema is expected to stay at Los Blancos.
Firmino leaves Liverpool after eight seasons
Since joining the club in 2015 he has enjoyed great success, playing a vital role in Liverpool’s Champions League wins in 2019 and the Premier League a year later.
