The future of Bruno Guimarães at Newcastle remains uncertain as the Brazilian has been linked with multiple European giants this summer. However, fellow countryman Joelinton believes his teammate will stay at the St. James’ Park.
"I think Bruno’s going to stay," Joelinton told The Guardian. "He tells me he’s going to come back next week [from a post-Copa América break] and get ready for the season. I know him, he loves the club. He loves the fans, he enjoys his life in Newcastle. I think he’s glad to be there for his life as well as for football."

Joelinton, who spent much of last season on the sidelines due to injury, is looking forward to returning to the Brazilian national team alongside Guimarães.
"It’s my goal," he said. "I hope my [on-field] relationship with Bruno can help get me back into the national team but my first focus is Newcastle.
"I’m very happy here, I love the club, the city, my family is happy, I enjoy my life. I’m happy to continue my journey here; my hopes are high for the next season. Last season was difficult for me with the injuries but now I want to help us get back up there again."
