With a stunning 4-2 victory over Spain, Brazil secured a place in the women’s football gold medal match against the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympics. With the triumph over the current world champions, the Selecao Feminina became the second team with the most Olympic finals in history.
This will be their third appearance in the tournament’s decisive match, which has been part of the Olympic program since Atlanta 1996. Once again, they will be looking to win their first gold medal: Brazil already claimed silver twice (Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008). Sweden, who also finished as runner-up twice, was the other team with the most final appearances.
