The Brazilian Women’s National Team is gearing up for an Olympics that promise to be historic for Brazilian football. The tournament, which is likely to be Marta’s last with the national team according to her own words, will officially begin on July 25th with a significant opening match against Nigeria.
Brazil will share the Paris 2024 group stage with the aforementioned African country, but their other two opponents will also be tough competitors. Japan and Spain complete Group C, and the Seleção is preparing to start their quest for the coveted Olympic Gold on the right foot.
Footy Headlines has leaked the uniform to be worn by the Brazilian women’s team, with the kit giving plenty to talk about due to a detail regarding its badge.

Brazil’s 2024 Olympic team: A badge that seems out of place due to Olympic regulations
One of the most notable details on the “new” jersey for the Brazilian Women’s National Team in these Olympics is the size of its badge.
Unlike the conventional jersey, officially unveiled by Brazil during the 2024 Copa América, which features the CBF logo on the chest, this jersey sports a reduced logo that includes the flag and the name of Brazil.
This is not unusual practice, as during the 2020 Olympics, held in 2021 due to the pandemic, the Seleção used a similar logo, with a nearly identical size to this year’s.

However, with the current style and model of Brazil’s jersey, this new logo does not seem to fit well.
Footy Headlines states on their website that the Nike-designed jersey, with a notably larger CBF badge in the central design, loses much of its appeal when this central design is removed:
“Unfortunately, due to Olympic regulations, the badge on the Olympic edition of the Nike Brazil jersey is very small, creating a rather cheap look.”
But what are these regulations FH is referring to?
FIFA vs Olympics: Regulations on Badge Sizes
The report refers to the regulations imposed by FIFA and the Olympic Committee regarding the uniforms worn by athletes in their respective competitions and tournaments.
FIFA ensures that team badges/logos must measure a maximum of 100 centimeters, allowing teams like Brazil and France to showcase magnified versions of their badges in recent international men’s tournaments of CONMEBOL and UEFA, respectively.

However, the Olympic regulatory body has much stricter rules regarding the size of badges or logos presented by participating countries in the various event disciplines. This allows for a national flag or emblem placed on the front of the jersey at chest height. This logo/emblem cannot obstruct the readability or position of the front numbers and cannot exceed 25 centimeters.
This regulation has also forced the host national team, France, to change its badge for the Olympics, presenting a small logo on the chest that references the Olympic Flame.
