Brazil started its U20 World Cup journey on the wrong foot, losing to Italy in the opening match. However, it didn’t take long for Ramon Menezes’ side to bounce back. With a commanding 4-1 victory over Tunisia, the youth Seleção sealed a place in the quarterfinals, where they’ll take on Israel.
With three straight victories under their belts, it’s safe to say the reigning U20 South American champions head into this clash in high spirits. However, coach Menezes did receive bad news, which is that two players are unavailable for the upcoming game.

Renan, Arthur ruled out for Brazil vs. Israel
Brazil’s starting lineup will look a bit different when they take the Estadio San Juan del Bicentenario on Saturday, June 3. Both Robert Renan and Arthur were ruled out for this match after seeing the red and yellow card, respectively, against Tunisia.
The Zenit youngster was sent off shortly before halftime, while the América-MG prospect was booked for the second time in this competition. Even so, Menezes looks optimistic ahead of the quarterfinals: “Eleven players don’t win a game, let alone a championship. A group does.”
