Endrick and Gabriel Veron, two Palmeiras sportsmen, have been included in the English magazine FourFourTwo’s list of the 50 most promising players in the globe. The rating was released on February 14 by the journal, which is one of the most prominent in the home nation of football, with nearly absolute dominance of Europeans in the top ten spots on the list: the only “intruder” is one of the Brazilians, Endrick.
Gabriel Veron, who is already a member of Verdao’s professional squad, placed in 17th place. Endrick, a member of the Palmeiras under-20 squad that won the Copa So Paulo de Futebol Jnior in 2022, finished eighth.
Jude Bellingham, an English midfielder who plays for Borussia Dortmund in Germany, was the top ranked player. Players from Barcelona, Spain, finished in second and third positions. Pedri, a Spanish midfielder, and Ansu Fati, a Guinean striker, who took up Spanish citizenship.
The Brazilians on the list
Endrick
Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa is a 15-year-old Brazilian youngster. On July 21, 2006, the striker was born in Brazil. Even at an early age, he assisted Palmeiras in winning six youth championships. He’s already trained with the professional squad, but he hasn’t been promoted yet since he hasn’t reached the age of 16.
He made his debut in the Copa So Paulo de Futebol Junior, which took place in January of that year. He not only won the championship, but he was also chosen the best player in the tournament. Journalists from all around the globe are already writing about his abilities. According to Spanish publication Marca, he has been identified as one of Real Madrid’s long-term objectives.
“Some European publications are referring to Palmeiras’ latest treasure as the new Vincius Jnior. It reminds me of a Ronaldo or Romario rather than a Vinicius Junior. “At just 15 years old, he has showed outstanding finishing talent,” journalist Danilo Lavieri recently said on the YouTube channel UOL Esporte.
Endrick’s “hype” is well-deserved, since the striker has already scored 165 goals in 169 appearances for Palmeiras’ minor squads.
Gabriel Veron
Gabriel Veron Fonseca de Souza is a 19-year-old Brazilian player. On September 3, 2002, the Palmeiras offensive midfielder – who prefers to play on the flanks – was born in Assu, Rio Grande do Norte’s interior. In 2019, he was promoted to the Verdao professional squad, and he has since helped the club win the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2020, as well as the Libertadores in 2020 and 2021.
He won seven Palmeiras youth trophies, the most recent of which being the 2019 Copa do Brasil U-20. He made worldwide headlines when he won the FIFA U-17 World Cup with the Brazilian squad in 2019, which was also held in Brazil. That’s because, in addition to the championship, he won the international competition’s “Golden Ball” — he was named the tournament’s ace.
He is Palmeiras’ second-youngest player to score a goal (17 years, 3 months and 2 days). His first professional goal came in a 5-1 win against Goiás in a match that qualified for the Brasileirão 2019. He was just a few months older than Juliano (16 years, 11 months, and 23 days) when he scored against Nacional of Uruguay in the 1998 Mercosur World Cup.
