While the likes of Endrick and Vitor Roque didn’t have permission from their respective clubs to travel to Argentina, coach Ramon Menezes could count on many other youngsters who were able to make an impression despite the early elimination.

Five Brazilian youngsters who stood out in the U20 World Cup
FIFA selected five Brazilian players who shone in Argentina, recognizing their performances regardless of the team’s result in the competition.
19-year-old Robert Renan, aged 19, is one of these players. The governing body’s website praised the maturity shown by the Zenit Saint-Petersburg prospect, who also gave a lot to talk about with his quality on the pitch.
Jean Pedroso, who is also 19 but plays for Coritiba, has also been recognized for his level throughout the tournament: “Despite his lack of professional experience, Pedroso has already proven himself on the pitch, looking to get his career off the ground with his team. His desire to succeed is reflected in his game, and he aspires to reach new heights.”
Vasco da Gama prospect Marlon Gomes, was considered the ‘engine’ of the youth Brazilian team. PSV Eindhoven’s Savinho and Santos’ sensation Marcos Leonardo complete the list of players who stood out for Brazil, finding the net on several occasions. At the end of the day, the youth tournaments aren’t only about winning but also about learning and developing. And regardless of the elimination, Brazil seem to have a bright future ahead of them.
